Baby monitors - my current favourites

Choosing a baby monitor can be hard. There are loads on the market and many have lots of different options. I know how tricky it can be to decide which features are helpful and which are just nice extras to have. Personally, I have had a number of monitors with my sons but my current one is hands down my favourite to date.

For many, baby monitors are an essential bit of kit that can help ease their mind when their child is sleeping. As someone who is a big time natural worrier, I really have found that a good monitor helps me sleep better at night (when given the chance!) and relax in the evening. My older son was born prematurely at 33 weeks, and then developed asthma around the age of two, so for me, having a monitor was vitally important. He is now 8 and thankfully is well and his asthma is manageable.

When my youngest was born (there’s a six year age gap) I couldn’t believe the move on in monitor technology in that time. We didn’t buy much new for our youngest son because we had kept everything, but due to the technology developments, getting a new monitor was a no brainer for me.

There are many different monitor options to consider; some just offer audio monitoring, but many provide video feeds and much more beyond. I have researched a lot of them! Personally I would always advise choosing a video monitor. They are a super handy way to check on your child without having to creep into their room and risk waking them up!

Here are some of my current favourites, including the monitor I have at home. I have the CuboAI Smart Baby Monitor and did use the Owlet Smart Sock when my youngest son was a baby after he spent some time in NICU for a fast heart rate. Both were invaluable to me and helped put my mind at ease. I will be doing a more in-depth post on the CuboAI shortly*.

* I purchased both of these monitors myself and my blog post is not affiliated with either brand.

** smart sleep devices are brilliant tools to help support parents and caregivers whilst looking after their babies. I would always advise regularly monitoring your child yourself, consulting with a doctor if your child is unwell and not relying on these devices solely.
